Former Union Minister Birender Singh has announced his resignation from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and declared his intention to join the Congress.

Singh's decision comes a month after his son, Brijender Singh, joined the Congress, and his wife, former BJP MLA Prem Lata, also parted ways with the saffron party. The veteran politician made the announcement during a press conference in Delhi, stating that he has sent his resignation to BJP chief JP Nadda and will officially join the Congress the following day.

Addressing the media in Delhi, Birender Singh confirmed his departure from the BJP and revealed his plans to formally join the Congress, underscoring a significant shift in his political allegiance after nearly a decade with the BJP.
